Foundation by Mr. Leonhard Kellenberger
Leonhard Kellenberger, returned to St.Gallen from a stay in abroad, with rich and profound experience and full of optimism, is founding the L. KELLENBERGER & Co AG.

1918
First Universal Grinding Machine.

1919
First machine at Exhibition in Basle, Switzerland.

1920
Introduction of a Surface Grinding Machine and of a Special Grinding Machine for the rebuilding of car-engines.

1922
First Fine-boring, Honing and Crank-Shaft Grinding Machines.

1935
First Tool and Cutter Grinder.

1945
First hydraulic Universal Grinding Machine.

1956
Mr. Edgar Kellenberger takes over responsibility for the Company.

1960
Specialization for Universal Cylindrical and Tool and Cutter Grinding Machines.

1976
Introduction of Stepping Motor-controlled Cylindrical Grinding Machines, Types R/UR/URF.

1980
Development of Numerical Control System in cooperation with the Swiss Electronics Manufacturer Grossenbacher ( AXESTA Heidenhain) today.

1981
Exhibiting of the Prototype of a Numerically-Controlled Grinding Machine at the EMO Hannover (Germany).

1984
Delivery of the first CNC-Grinding Machine.

1987
Inauguration of the fully air-conditioned Assembly Hall.

 

1989
Mr. Jürg Kellenberger takes over as Managing Director.

1989
Foundation of the Subsidiary Company in the United States for Sales and Service.

1993
Inauguration of the new Environment-Conscious Painting Departement.

1995
Introduction of the Numerically-controlled Product line KEL-VARIA.

1995
29th November "Closing Date". As from this date KELLENBERGER makes part of HARDINGE INC., Elmira, USA.

1997
Introduction of the new CNC-Product line KEL-VISION.

2000
Introduction of the new CNC-Product line KEL-VISTA.

2002
Inauguration of the 3-story enlargement building.
Introduction of the new CNC-Product line KEL-VIVA.

2006
Introduction of the new CNC-Product line KEL-VERA.

2008
Merger of KELLENBERGER and HTT

2008
Introduction of the new CNC-Product line KEL-VITA

2010
1st April. As from this date Jones&Shipman makes part of KELLENBERGER

2012
15th June. Inauguration of the production hall in Romanshorn
